Zen Vision, Zune, iPod, or oth

Hi all! I'm a longtime Zen owner, the 2.0 since four years ago and the Touch about a year and a half owner. I've been pretty satisfied with them but it's time for a new MP3 player (40 GB or higher storage), since the Touch has ceased to work So there's the 60 GB Vision:M, the 60 GB Zune, and the 80 GB iPod, maybe other players I'm less familiar with, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me a good, objecti've comparison of the three (or any you have experience with).
Personally, I'm looking for a good package (so the fact that the iPod is smaller and the buttons aren't as clunky as the Vision's does matter), but that's less important than simple ease of use -- it looks like a lot of the new players are making prettiness more important than usability (for more than just "play this song"), which bugs me!
So I'm looking for an easy to manipulate now playing/on-the-go type list, more than anything else. My Zen 2.0 was perfect, I could collapse and expand groups (album, artist, playlist, whatever), move them around the playlist, move tracks around the list or within the group, anything I wanted to do with a few easy clicks. For some reason, newer and supposedly better players lack this feature, including my Touch. I tried all three (Vision:M, iPod, Zune) and couldn't find any such feature, but I could be wrong. I know the iPod can be made to take third-party firmware, which fixes that in a heartbeat, do any other players?
I'm also looking for basic ease of use while playing a list of music--I remember trying the Zune and Vision, having to go through hoops to get to basic menu items while playing songs (a result of lacking basic things like a "forward/back track" button, haha), to view song info or the rest of the list...
Lastly, sound quality is important--I have pretty decent headphones (Etymotic ER-4Ps) where I can hear a lot of minor quality differences, so this matters, too.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. This is going to be a big decision--over a few years, minor things (like the now playing stuff) can become huge annoyances, so thanks in advance!!
