Compaq 6910p screen is dark when turned on

I have a Compaq 6910p that was working all fine,  I opened the keyboard to check on the RAM, and after I put the keyboard back and screwed it on, it doesn't boot anymore.  When I press the power button to turn it on, the power indicator lights up, the fan spins, but the screen stays dark, no BIOS screen, no nothing, and the hard drive doesn't spin.  It just sits there with the fan blowing.   I have reopend the keyword and checked the connectors I can think of but to no avail.  Did I permanently damage anything or is it most likely some tiny cable got unplugged?
Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

It is unlikely you could have killed it by removing the keyboard. What did you do to the memory? All I can think is you somehow static shocked it while you were in there or it is just a coincidence and it was about to die, anyway.
